We, the former volunteers, have maintained contact with the craftsmen’s school Teco Munteme over the years. Sporadically, we have made financial contributions to the school, travelled to Munteme to get an idea of the situation and maintain contact with the people.

After the last two trips in 2011 and 2013, we founded the association “Friends of Teco” on 20 April 2013. Our goal is the continuous, sustainable support of the crafts school in the district of Hoima, Uganda.

The Friends of Teco association supports in particular:

  • Maintenance of the existing school infrastructure.
  • Maintenance and conservation of the 340 hectares of Itohya forest as well as the reforestation of the adjacent bush and cultivated land.

The association is run on a voluntary basis by a three-member board:

  • Leo Engeler, President
  • Ruedi Zumbrunn, Actuary
  • Herbert Wiederkehr, assessor
  • Jost Eggenschwiler, Treasurer

In addition to membership fees, we also collect donations for the fulfilment of our support commitments, which are requested by Teco and approved annually by the Association Assembly.

Your membership would make us very happy!
